Dario Cecchini’s Officina della Bistecca Steak Workshop
Posted on May 2, 2012 | 22 CommentsWhen I'm asked what kind of food I like the best I usually say Italian which to me is foodie code for "simple, great food". True Italian cuisine takes the freshest possible in-season ingredients and obsessively prepares it as simply as possible to highlight natural flavors. If you want to try this with steak then you have to check out the Officina della Bistecca run by famous butcher Dario Cecchini in Panzano Italy. -
Causeway Bay Dessert Map 2012 (Hong Kong)
Posted on April 15, 2012 | 2 CommentsWhile Hong Kong has all kinds of dessert places, I prefer to seek out some of the more traditional Hong Kong style sweets that are difficult to find or replicate anywhere else in the world. Unlike western desserts that are usually cream based and very sweet, Hong Kong desserts are typically very light and only cost a few dollars per serving (in US or Canadian dollars) which means that you can easily go dessert hopping after a meal and not feel guilty. -
Fancy Street Food in LA at Susan Feniger’s Street
Posted on November 16, 2011 | No CommentsIt only took me a few minutes to clue in to the fact that the restaurant is called Street because it is inspired by street food around the world. Street's only downfall is that the broad spectrum of tastes they offer don't lend themselves to building a single cohesive meal. I wouldn't go there if I was looking for a normal meal, but if I felt adventurous and wanted to snack on a variety of great bites Street would be a must see in LA. It would also be a great place to bring someone if you weren't sure what kind of food they're into. -
Breakfast at The Providores in Marylebone London
Posted on August 7, 2011 | 8 CommentsBeing located in a slightly posh part of town, breakfast wasn't exactly cheap with dishes ranging from £6-11, but other places nearby seemed to charge the same prices for much more basic fare. While the Tapa Room (where they serve breakfast) did get a little crowded by mid-morning, the service was fast and friendly. If I'm staying in Marylebone the next time that I'm in London (or if Mrs A|T decides to hit Oxford street in the morning) I will absolutely return here for breakfast -
Palm Court Afternoon Tea at The Langham in London
Posted on August 5, 2011 | 2 CommentsJust as no trip to Venice is truly complete without a very expensive ride in a gondola, a top notch afternoon tea in London is something that should be splurged on if you can arrange it. Afternoon Tea at Palm Court was an absolute experience. The food was beautiful, imaginative, and delicious while the service was out of this world great.
