This week’s Travel Photo Thursday comes from the Humuhumunukunukuapua’a restaurant at the Grand Wailea on Maui. Humuhumunukunukuapua’a is the Hawaiian name for the Reef Triggerfish. They call it Humuhumu for short. We decided to dine here on a family trip to Maui back in 2009. While everyone one else was checking out all of the beautiful pools and beach scenery, I was looking at the the cool lights and the lighting. I’m kind of geeky that way.
Travel Photo Thursday is hosted by Budget Travelers Sandbox and I urge you to check out the other great photos linked there! I’ve added a couple of bonus shots below.
I should have taken the filter off my lens for that last one!
Very interesting photos! Nice. Grand Wailea is such a great place even their sconces are photo-worthy.
What a beautiful restaurant! You’ve captured it perfectly.
Thanks for posting to Travel Photo Thursday.
Love the photos ! Can’t pronounce the name of that restuarant sober, though. Do they serve alcohol?
Yes they serve alcohol – all in coconuts and pineapples with umbrellas, though!
