Top Tips for Visiting Legoland California
Posted on January 4, 2012 | 5 CommentsWhile the park only really has 1 major thrill ride to satisfy big kids, there are plenty of small coasters, a target ride, a pirate themed splash zone, and many other well themed rides to keep kids from age 5 and up to the young teens entertained. And of course, adult fans of Lego (AFOL - there's actually an official club) and teenage fans of Lego will enjoy checking out the many Lego sculptures around the park. I would allow 2 full days to see everything. -
Photo Gallery: Star Wars Miniland at Legoland California
Posted on January 4, 2012 | 10 CommentsStar Wars Miniland includes scenes from all 6 of the movies, although being of a certain age I'm partial to the original trilogy so most of my pictures were from those scenes. It's hard to get a sense of scale from the photos, but the sculptures are pretty big. The Millenium Falcon was 3-4 feet long and there was a Clone Wars Turbo Tank made up of over 10,000 pieces of Lego! -
Travel Photo Thursday: Disneyland Submarine Renovation
Posted on May 5, 2011 | 5 CommentsThe original Disneyland Submarine Voyage ride opened in 1958 and ran for 40 years before being shut down in 1998. After 9 long years of sitting empty, it was finally reopened in 2007. In April of 2006 I was lucky enough to catch these shots of the Submarine renovation.I've always enjoyed taking pictures of construction when at the parks. Sometimes you have to hold your camera above fencing to take these kinds of shots, but in this case I was able to get a nice view of the submarine lagoon while wating for a ride at the Disneyland Monorail station in Tomorrowland. -
Travel Photo Thursday: Hong Kong Disneyland
Posted on March 23, 2011 | 16 CommentsIt feels like time for some fun to break up the mood of the last couple of weeks. For Travel Photo Thursday I selected a shot that I took of the Hong Kong Disneyland fireworks as seen from behind the castle. Most people watch from the front of the castle where the production is designed to be seen. -
Mickey Mouse Regains His Voice
Posted on May 7, 2010 | No CommentsThe good news is that after what I can only assume has been years of voice coaching, Mickey can now speak directly to fans who go to visit him at his home in Toontown or at any of the other locations he frequents at the various Disney parks.
