  • Tofino is a sleepy little surf town on the west coast of Vancouver Island and about a half day drive/ferry outside of Vancouver. Located on the edge of Pacific Rim National Park, Tofino is a best known for its beaches, whale watching, hiking, and kayaking. When I think of Tofino I think about surfing. People come year round to surf, even though the water is almost always only a few degrees above freezing.

  • The idea of a staycation isn't so bad when you live in a place like Vancouver. While I'm guilty of not appreciating my own backyard nearly as much as I should, I never tire of taking a ride on our local ferry system from Vancouver to Victoria.

  • It seems obvious to say that the best travel photos are taken while you are on vacation; however, on my current trip to London it is possible that travel photos were actually taken back home. While shopping on Oxford Street in London, a friend sent me two pictures of a black bear in my swimming pool.

  • The past weekend I went to Las Vegas for a bachelor party. Now that we have rapid tranist to the airport via the Canada Line nearly all of my solo flights start at Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver with a ride on Vancouver's SeaBus. Carrying my new Swissgear Sling camera bag, when I saw the shot of downtown Vancouver's skyline nicely framed by the Seabus window I was able to get the shot.
